Located in Windsor, Bistro Morgan is a Melbourne bakehouse known for its handcrafted doughnuts, playful personality and bold visual identity. I was commissioned to design and hand-paint a large-scale interior mural that would bring this character into the space and create an engaging backdrop for customers.

The visual direction was developed specifically for the interior, combining oversized typography with Bistro Morgan’s illustrated doughnut mascot. A restrained palette of deep blue and warm cream was chosen to complement the existing finishes while creating a strong contrast against the exposed brickwork.

The mural was designed to respond directly to the architecture, extending across the brick wall, glass panels and adjoining column. Rather than treating these surfaces separately, the artwork wraps around them as one continuous composition, helping unite the different areas of the interior.

Every element was painted by hand, from the large-scale lettering to the finer details of the mascot. The finished mural creates a playful focal point that reflects Bistro Morgan’s distinctive personality while feeling purpose-built for its Windsor space.
