Located in the suburb of Hillary’s, the Joondalup Festival is an award-winning event held annually from 2 – 22 March, featuring a vibrant program of music, performances, and art. As part of the festival's activation, I was commissioned to hand-paint a shipping container, transforming it into a dynamic visual element of the festival.
Working closely with the Joondalup Council, the project involved transforming a standard shipping container into a captivating piece, sporting the well-known festival branding. Using traditional hand-painting techniques the design featured vibrant colours and intricate patterns indicative of the festival’s branding, designed to capture the essence of the festival’s lively atmosphere and memorable design.
The feedback from the council and festival-goers was overwhelmingly positive, highlighting the impact of the installation in elevating the festival's aesthetic appeal. This collaboration underscored the importance of artistic contributions to public events and set a high standard for future festival activations.
