Situated next door to Grossi Florentino in the bustling heart of Melbourne, Ombra Salumi Bar is renowned for its dedication to the ideals of preservation. This salumi and cicchetti bar, a creation of the Grossi Family, embraces the preservation of both produce and culture, celebrating techniques such as drying, smoking, salting, fermenting, pickling, and candying to prolong nature's bounty. Ombra is a relaxed and fun space, featuring a ground-floor wine bar with high stools and a dining room on the first floor.

Tasked with hand painting signage on their front window, I approached the project with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to traditional techniques. The hand-painted signage was executed to serve as both a functional guide and an artistic element, enhancing the visual identity of Ombra. Each stroke of enamel paint was applied with precision, resulting in signage that was not only beautiful but also durable and in keeping with the traditional craftsmanship that Ombra embodies.

Each aspect of the project was crafted to reflect Ombra Salumi Bar's core values, seamlessly merging tradition with contemporary aesthetics. Witnessing the positive reception within the community and the enhanced ambiance reaffirmed the significance of this collaboration in elevating Ombra's presence as a beloved and culturally rich dining destination.
